Rick helped me gain a deeper understanding of myself and why I behave the way I do. I learnt that meditation, breathing and being, rather than doing is a great way to stop and take stock of what is going on within, which also helps me to regulate emotion and live from a calm, peaceful, relaxed state. 

He is awesome, I felt relaxed, at ease and extremely comfortable in his presence. He is a very calming influence and knows how to crack a joke, too. I liked the whole process he took me through and the way in which he told me from the outset what we were going to do, he set the scene well.

Rick is a great listener. He was great at listening and asking questions that caused me to look deep within to see how and why I behave the way I do. I love how non-judgmental and understanding he is, he never jumped to conclusions and was willing to hear me out, even encouraging me to talk more so he himself could get a deeper understanding, the sign of a great coach.

Before I started working with Rick, I would not say I was in a bad place mentally, but I was just getting back to playing football after being out of the game for the best part of 18 months. I had struggled with a lot of injuries and even though I was back fit, injuries from the past were still at the forefront of my mind and I wanted to change this.

I had a great time working with Rick. He helped me overcome the troubling thoughts I was having, but did much more than this, also helping me organise my life and focus my mind on the things I wanted to achieve both on and off the pitch. I left every session feeling a million times better than before I started, and felt like I always learnt something from each interaction with him. Rick is very relaxed in the way he speaks to people and is a great listener.

I wanted to focus on improving my confidence. Rick gave me many strategies to help improve my confidence both on the pitch and in all areas of my life. Already I am putting these into practice and seeing the rewards. 

I am in a stronger place mentally than I was when I started with Rick. He has helped me see that all the past was just part of my journey, and what I thought were negative situations from the past, have actually helped me grow as a person and I am better for the experiences. He has been a big part of my journey this season and has become a good friend throughout our time working together.

I started working with Rick in October 2021. I was 46 at the time, single, had just survived Covid lockdown, and I was in a deep hole of questioning everything about life, myself and my future, seemingly with no clear way out or a way to move forward.
